Installation
Short installation instructions
To begin installation on your PC, double click on the downloaded file "planetarium.exe". If you are using Windows XP you will get a security notification that the file has an invalid signature. You can still start the program or stop the installation if you wish. We do not plan to have the software signed in the near future.
After agreeing to the license terms, you will be asked for your entry in the star registry (see Figure 1).
You will find your registration number on the stamp on your star certificate. The order number is on the back side between the hash key "#" and the slash "/".
Example:
usfi.org #3775/6390 2005-11-13After correctly entering the information, you will see an excerpt from the star registry confirming your input.
Figure 2: Installation window with your star data
In the last step you have the option to choose the geographical position on Earth you would like to use the USFI-Planetarium from. If you are not sure of the latitude and longitude, you can determine the coordinates at multimap.com or maporama.com. If you selected a specific star calculated according to geographical position, then the fields will have those values already entered as default coordinates.

You can check the location that you entered by clicking the button labeled "Check".
